Mark Herndon serves as Chairman of M&A Leadership Council, an educational consortium of global professional service firms, experts and corporate practitioners in the art and science of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures. Mark formerly served as President of M&A Partners where his practice included M&A strategy, due diligence, integration management; enterprise communications; leadership during periods of disruptive change; and helping acquirers build internal M&A capabilities that maximize deal value.
Prior to that, he served as U.S. Region Leader for Merger and Acquisition Services with Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a global top-twenty consulting firm, where his clients included Boeing, Dell Computer, Dow Chemical, Equistar Chemicals LP, Lyondell Petrochemical and McNeil Consumer Products, among others. In addition, Mark served as President of a boutique transaction advisory firm that supported private equity firms, family offices and mid-market companies with M&A buy-side and sell-side transaction services including acquisition strategy; valuation; financing for growth and distressed situations; due diligence; restructuring and debt workouts.
Mark is the co-author of The Complete Guide To Mergers and Acquisitions: Process Tools to Support M&A Integration at Every Level, which has been translated into five languages and is used as a foundational guide for various consulting firms and university programs.
Mark serves as a Board Director for various companies and faith-based organizations. In addition to his business advisory work, Mark serves as Chief Knowledge Officer for the M&A Leadership Council, a professional association devoted to establishing best-practices for the M&A community. A dynamic and professional speaker, Mark has presented keynote addresses and training sessions to nearly 400,000 people in 45 states and twelve countries.
